Zoo and Beach

We had a wonderful time with my parents in town. We went to the zoo here and had such a fun time (even in the heat and humidity). Regardless, the kids loved it, especially the manatees and sting rays. We visit a place here in the winter where we see both close up.

And, you got to love the giraffes. They, of course, don't like to be touched and they throw their heads back if you try.

Later that evening, we headed over to Clearwater where we enjoyed a beautiful supper on the beach. After supper, my kids ran around in the sand and water. Word of advice, head to the beach late on a weeknight right before a rain is due. You will have the beach to yourself.
In other news, Chanin had his six month appointment. He is a whooping 24 lbs. for a six month old. That's 99% if you could not guess, and he is also 99% in height as well. Trust me, it's not because he is loading up on big boy food. He hates it! When you show him the spoon, he presses his little lips together. You try to make him smile, and he presses his lips together while he smiles. Anybody have any advice?

Cute! Looks like a fun zoo too. I'm sure Chanin will love big boy food one of these days. Kiss them all for us.
Love you!

I read your blog from LT's link. Your kids are precious.

My son had serious issues with solids and he ended up in Occupational Therapy for 12 weeks.

He is only 6 months so it is too early to worry....unless you notice that he doesn't chew on toys/books/anything he can get his hands on like babies are supposed to. That is a major sign of sensory issues.

Don't feed him with a spoon. Smear the food on his tray and let him figure out that he likes the flavor by using his fingers.

Hope this helps. If you want more tips, you can email me at lmd328@gmail.com
