Happy Gasparilla! This is one of our favorite weekends of the year. This year I realized why Gasparilla is so fun. It's a great community event, but our church puts on a great picnic at the home of a wonderful lady at our church. We can walk (it's a pretty long walk), and we see so many friends that we have met at the library, grocery store, and Target.
Forrest really loved it this year. Last year, he was just over one year old, and I had a really hard time with him. I was also eight months pregnant, and it was very humid outside. This year it was cold and windy, really cold.
Forrest really loved eating goldfish during the parade and his chocolate sucker.
Anna Christine was so proud to get this flower, but she got really cold and her lips turned blue.
There are great fireworks at the end. So many people left because of the cold, but we waited it out inside. Come to find out as the evening progressed, the wind stopped blowing, and it almost felt like it warmed up. We enjoyed the fireworks and the walk home with a very small crowd of people. It was a great evening!
