More on Forrest. . .

Forrest's personality is really coming out these days, and we are having such fun watching him mimic everyone. He is really into feeding people and things. In these first picture, he is feeding the vacuum cleaner. He only would feed it while it was running, and it was a little tough for me to get the vacuuming done while the little guy was trying to give it a bite to eat and some tea. I just stopped vacuuming and left it running to give him some time. He has always really loved the vacuum cleaner.

More playtime. . . Up til now, Anna Christine has learned that it is best to play on tables and other high places so that Forrest won't destroy or mess up what she is doing. Now, he can crawl up on any furniture, and he also moves stools to reach things. It has been a little tough on Anna Christine. She really loves playing with her kitchen food (outside her kitchen) and her two doll houses. Yesterday, she made Samuel's lunch for work which consisted of each piece of her pretend food. She divided all the food up in her Tupperware and sent it with him. Even though it is pretend food, Samuel and I have learned that it is also serious business. He walked out the door with all the food and Tupperware and then brought it back when he got home, thanking her for the wonderful lunch. After he left, she found a potato under a chair and was so disappointed that he did not have his potato.
She plays and plays and plays with these doll houses, and you can hear her create the story of all the dollhouse characters too.

Last night, I made a cake, and Forrest wanted to watch the whole process (and he did since he only slept for a total of 40 minutes yesterday). He has moved the stool from Anna Christine's room, and he has the oven glove on. He is extremely willing to help. He also got the stool and opened a drawer to get measuring spoons out. He added pretend ingredients while the cake was mixing. That was after he found the softened stick of butter and snuck away from me, getting butter all over himself. So, the new rule in our house is NO MORE STOOLS in the kitchen.
